It's a little known secret I love teaching and working with participants in the field. Each year I host several workshops guiding a select number of participants to locations that inspired me to create some of my favorite images to date. These workshops are small in number, consist of hours of hands-on in-field instruction, a classroom post-processing component each day all ensuring you confidence behind the lens and in post processing at the end. You will return home inspired and with images you will be proud to show.

Whether you're new here or looking to join on another workshop with me, I welcome you and can't wait for you to...

I am a landscape photographer who was searching for someone to take me around Colorado to photograph what hopefully would be exceptional shots.  Joseph came prepared with snowshoes so that I could easily maneuver the snowy terrain, and was prepared to take me to places that would be of interest to me.  When he undertakes a commitment, Joe is always prepared with whatever is needed to make the journey one of interest, adventure and excitement.  He has consistently proven to be knowledgeable, resourceful, energetic, courteous and attentive to my needs and special types of scenes that I would want to include in my portfolio.  I have photographed with him in Colorado, the Pacific Northwest, Scotland, and am looking forward to a photography/workshop around Iceland in September.

I want to give a big shout out to Joseph Roybal Photography for organizing the trip to Ice Lake Basin and providing some awesome instruction to get better images.  There are many ways learn how to better ones photography skills, but I find that hands on, in the field lessons are the best for me. So a big shout out goes to Joseph Roybal and the wonderful workshop he put on. I've attended a few of his outings and workshops and learn something new every time.  If you ever get a chance, and what to learn some awesome stuff, check out his website and attend one of his workshops. He's a great guy, awesome photographer, and killer instructor.

Joseph Roybal Photography Workshop

Joseph goes above and beyond for his workshop participants, not only as an instructor, but also as a genuine human being.  While he will work tirelessly to make sure everyone gets the shot they're looking for, he also takes the time to connect with each person on a personal, individual level.  I have been a part of several of Joe's workshops, and am always looking forward to the next one.  The amount of personal attention, guidance, and discussion of ideas and perspectives is far above anything I've experienced in any other workshop.

I don't know where to start.  Joseph Roybal has supported me in so many different ways as I have evolved as a professional photographer.  He was there at the beginning when I learned my very important first lessons as a photographer to just recently advising me on a project I was completing for a major commercial client.  In addition, I have participated in several of his "don't miss photo field trips", and walked away with marketable photos each and every time. Most importantly he is the kind of person you want as a friend!

I truly have nothing but the highest praise, appreciation, and respect for Joseph Roybal. He is a one-of-a kind person and a superbly talented photographer, teacher, and mentor. Both in the field with a group and on an individual basis, I’ve experienced first-hand his work ethic and commitment to his clients and his craft. His love of photography and nature is infectious.

Joseph is knowledgeable about all aspects of photography from the purchase of equipment to the printing process. Over the past year, I’ve been both challenged and rewarded working with Joseph as we’ve evaluated, critiqued, and post-processed my images in Lightroom and Photoshop and prepared some for printing. He is sincere and honest in his evaluation and critiques of my work and the work of others as I’ve witnessed in camera clubs where Joseph has been the judge. This tough love quality has nurtured trust and growth. His expertise and guidance have been invaluable in my development as a photographer. Any time I’ve had questions he has been available and responsive.

It has been a pleasure to work with Joseph and to get to know him. I’d highly recommend Joseph to anyone wanting to advance their in-field or post-processing skills.
