Deep in the heart of California's Eastern Sierra Mountains lies a landscape like no other; this area is a photographer's paradise yet is rarely shot making you one of the few to capture it like few before you have. I hold this location close to my heart as it's a gem and aim to preserve it. We will hike into this area and spend a total of four nights in the backcountry maximizing our time in the field. Prepare yourself for a landscape like you've never seen with incredibly jagged peaks rising above pristine glacial lakes, wildflowers in bloom all the while having the location to ourselves save the occasional hiker; these vistas will take your breath away and the images captured will leave you yearning to go back. This is also timed with the lunar calendar and a couple of days after the New Moon to capture the night sky masterfully - we will leave no stone unturned!

Itinerary

The itinerary on this workshop is a little loose as it's geared more towards a small group and built around backpacking into a remote location. I also want to keep this location a secret as long as possible. We will take our time before setting out on the trail going over food, safety and water. Before arrival to Mammoth Lakes we will all be in contact firming up final details.

August 11:

Depart car-park and begin hike

August 11 - 14:

Backcountry bliss

August 15:

Hike out early morning of the 15th and return to car park. From here everyone may do as they wish, however I highly suggest a burger and beer in Mammoth Lakes, I have the best spot :)

Fitness

The hike to get into this area is fairly challenging and a moderate amount of fitness is required. Please email me with any questions.

What's Included

Meals for each participant for each day in the backcountry.

Post-processing session from home after workshop as we won't be able to work while in the field. I will set up a group event to show my editing techniques and will schedule 1:1 sessions with each one of you after.
